Where To Begin

Theme
First you need to decide what type of theme you would like for your album. Are you putting together your baby’s first year, an album for grandma, or an album for your child’s baseball team?

Album Size
The number of photos you would like to include in your album will determine what size album for your project. Generally speaking, the more photos you would like to include, the larger the album.

Consultation
During the initial consultation (via phone or email), we’ll talk about the general theme, specific color choices, the number of pictures you would like to include, and how many layouts we could fit in your album. If you have specific papers and embellishments or an album that you already have and would like to use them, I would be more than happy to incorporate those into the designs. We will talk about a time frame for completing the album and an estimate on the price. (Any changes on the estimate during the process of the album will be discussed with you for your approval.)

Journaling
Journaling is the story behind the photos. It’s the who, what, where, when, why, and sometimes how of the pictures and can be so important to your family and possibly future generations. I can incorporate journaling by three means: computer generated, handwritten (yours not mine), or a combination of both. I will choose computer generated unless otherwise noted during our initial consultation. If you choose to handwrite your journaling, I will include an acid-free pen and enough space on the layout for you to write it yourself. Although this means is sometimes the hardest to determine the amount of space needed, it is more personal. If you are unsure about what to write for journaling, I can give you pointers during our initial consultation, however, I would like to receive the journaling at the same time I receive the photos so I know how much space will be needed on the layouts.

Deposit
I require a 50% deposit, based on our initial estimate, on all projects before I begin working. I will also email you a copyright agreement and must receive a signed copy prior to completion of your album.

Send me your photos
Send me your pictures and any other supplies you like to be incorporated in the album. You can send me your digital photos on a CD via mail (if you have several pictures to incorporate this would be preferred method), hard copies of photos via mail, or a few digital photos via email. Please be advised that I do not want negatives. Although I will treat your photos with the utmost care and respect, I cannot be responsible for damaged or lost photos. Please make a copy of your photos for me and keep the originals in a safe place.

Sketches
Once I get a chance to look at your photos, determine the number of photos per layout, how much space will be needed for the journaling, and any other accents/embellishments that you would like in the layouts, I will begin working on sketching. At this point, I will determine what size photos will be needed/recommended for the layout and the placement of everything on the layout. I will email you the sketches for your approval, inform you of any changes that may need to be made at that time, and give you an updated estimate for the album.

Finished Project
Once the album is complete, I will notify you. Any remaining fees, including shipping and handling charges, will be required prior to delivery of the final project.

Shipping
All shipping charges reflect actual cost. The method of shipping will be at your discretion. All liability and risk of loss during shipment are the sole responsibility of the buyer.
